Welcome to the land of Caeton. It's the year 1632 AD, or, at least, it would be, had there been a Christ to mark the date as so. Caeton is a land of magic and fantasy-- where humans entering their era of Renaissance and invention live and fuse their ways alongside those that practice magic or ride dragons or are something else entirely. This is a world where dwarves and elves fight and dragons plunder and humans just try to ride the tides of it all. This is a world where science and progress are being cast into the age of enlightenment and magic shows no sign of yielding to its growing strength. This is the land of Caeton.
But while this unique land flourishes, inner turmoil is not obsolete. Elves are drawing further and further back into their ways of seclusion- and if they know something the rest of the world doesn't they certainty aren't telling. Dwarves continue their furious fight with the scarce elves as well as supplying a steady stream of weaponry, new and old alike. The Dragon Tamers, once revered and reclusive, finally fell and patrol the land as a personal and powerful army of the Human Kingdom whose power is no longer questioned- not to mention the persistent inner wars between the tamer clans. The Humans themselves rule the land despite their blandness in comparison to the others, their retched hate for the other species of the land and their sharp intelligence, industrial progression, and political and ware-fare power leaving them as the dominating race of the land. War over everything and nothing seems on the verge of breaking out- for liberation, for peace, for revenge, for assertion of power, no one really knows. All, at this point, keeping the world together is a council with a group of representatives from each race that meet consistently at the Queen's palace for grievances and mediating.
Now there's talk brewing deep of threats of invaders from the North, and the tamers on the Southern shore report that their underwater war isn't faring much better either. What's more is the rumors of a long buried magical artifact reemerging from its depths of time- an artifact that can tip the scales in one's favor and break and weave the very fabrics of time. Tensions are high and despite the assurances that this artifact is just a myth, there are those who can't help but wonder how much exactly an item of that power would help their cause.
The tides are changing in Caeton, and the one thing that everyone in the land can agree on is that something, everything, is about to change.
